From the 90s to your winter rotation. The The North Face 1996 Retro Nuptse in Black keeps the boxy silhouette, the high-loft baffles, and the shiny ripstop fabric that made the original unmistakable. The loose fit leaves room for layering, without losing the Nuptse's presence.
The 700-fill goose down insulation combines warmth and packability, while the recycled nylon with a non-PFC DWR water-repellent finish helps handle light moisture. When you don't need it, the hood stows into the collar, and the jacket can be packed into its own right-hand pocket.

- Body: 100% recycled nylon ripstop, 54 g/m², with non-PFC DWR finish.
- Overlays and lining: 100% recycled nylon taffeta, 69 g/m², with non-PFC DWR finish.
- Insulation: 700-fill goose down, RDS certified.
Care
- Always check the internal label instructions before washing.
- Turn the jacket inside out and close all zips and hook-and-loop fasteners.
- Wash individually, only in a front-loading machine, in warm water, on a gentle cycle, with a low spin.
- Use liquid detergent specifically for down, without bleach. If necessary, repeat the rinse to remove residue and add a spin cycle to remove excess water.
- Remove the jacket from the machine by supporting it from underneath, without pulling on the fabric.
- Tumble dry individually on low heat for as long as necessary to dry completely. Use dryer balls or tennis balls to help fluff the down.
- If you do not have the proper equipment to wash and dry the garment, use a professional service specializing in down items.
